TNP PAC Event

Dear group,

Our event for TNP PAC fundraiser has finally been scheduled for Friday, 10/28/16 from 5-7 PM in the Tasting Room at Llano Estacado Winery, 3426 East FM 1585; Lubbock, Texas. Tickets will be $35 / person. After having a conference call with Erin Cusack (Associate Director of Public Affairs for TNP), we made some decisions about the TNP event. Erin felt that a few members should "host" the event, but still consider the event as SPNPA supported. Because SPNPA is incorporated as 501(c)6; we would be unable to invite nonmembers if the event was hosted by SPNPA. We thought the support and turnout might be better if we could include nonmembers. Some of the other regional areas have done the same. The Hill Country NPs are hosting a wine tasting Jini Miller's home on 10/22/16. Christy Blanco and one of fellow local NPs hosted an event last weekend at a Mexican food restaurant in El Paso.

It won't change the overall goal of the event which is to support TNP PAC; however, it will allow us to include nonmembers and solicit donations from outside sources. Erin Cusack is doing the invite for us and sending me a template for tickets. The event will be posted on Facebook and hopefully our website. I will bring tickets to sell and flyers to our meeting next week. Erin also informed us we cannot legally have a raffle in the state of Texas, but we are able to have a Silent Auction at the Event for donated items! I can make description flyers for any donated items, if you will let me know. Llano will supply the tables for food, and the Silent Auction. They will also have servers there for the food. She is also inviting our local Legislators, and will give them time to make a remark if able to come.

I think it should be a fun event, even for those who don't drink wine! We will have water, tea, and heavy hors d' oeuvres, as well! Please spread the word!
